Today we were listening to the kids play in the other room when Landon says, "Hey Ella, you wanna Landonback ride?" Wayne and I both looked at each other like what the heck is that? Then we realized it was a piggyback ride. We thought it was pretty funny.
Then the other day we had a family home evening about how Heavenly Father wants us to do what is right and Satan wants us to be bad and do bad things. Well that evening Landon said the family prayer and said, "Heavenly Father I love you so much, but I don't like Satan and I want to punch him and kick him in his face." It took everything Wayne and I had to keep from busting up laughing.
And last but not least, we were in the grocery store and Landon bent down in front of this Grandma to get something, meanwhile I turned around to grab something else and I hear, "Whoa, I didn't know they made brown grandmas." I turned quickly to see him standing directly under her looking up at her face. I wanted to crawl under the cart and roll myself out of the grocery store. I didn't even know what to say so I just said, "Landon come here son" and took him around the corner. It was even worse because for some reason when I'm really scared or mortified, in this instance, my bodies defensive reaction is laughter, it's weird I know. So while I'm trying to control that, I asked him, "Landon what did you say to that Grandma?" and he said, "Mommy that was a brown grandma I didn't know they had those." So I said "Landon, Heavenly Father makes all of our skin different colors so we don't all look the same and someday you'll grow up to be a white grandpa and your friends that have brown skin will be brown grandpa's, but it's bad manners to say things about peoples skin, so next time just ask Mommy." He looked at me and said, "Oh,Okay" I just hugged him and told him it was alright. I just hope that grandma was hard of hearing and didn't hear any of it.
